This headpiece was inspired by the Beaux Art Ball costumes. The performance consisted of me walking for an hour in the space, wearing the headpiece. The piece was
a surrender of control to the work and space. For the duration of the performance, the headpiece held reigns over me both physically; my movement, balance, speed, as well mentally; my emotions and psyche. It was the initiation of the dialogue and negotiation of holding space between myself, the work as well as the audience, in my practice. Like many of my other performances, this one also created a fourth wall between the audience and myself.
